Clam Shell Ring, Hand-Picked & Hand-Cut, Set in Sterling Silver with 14kt GF Embellishments
Description
This ring is made with a clam shell that I hand-picked from a beach at the Jersey Shore. Each of the shells were hand cut and polished specifically for this ring design. The top shell has a beautiful gradient of colors spanning from blue at the top, to cream, and tan, and ivory. The 3 smaller shells are more ivory and cream in color. The ring is made with heavy-duty sterling silver and hand forged flower. There is a tiny 14 kt gold filled ball, which is in most of my pieces as a 'JO's' trademark. The JO's stamp is on the bottom of the piece.
This ring is a modest 6 1/2 size (between 6 1/4" and 6 1/2"). It can be made bigger, but the band would change to hammered, instead of half round.
WHAT MAKES JO's JEWELRY SPECIAL: *** Each piece is uniquely designed and created as a tribute to the beauty and perfection found in the natural world around me. *** It is made responsibly! The shells, stones, & sea glass used in my work have all been hand-picked by me; Materials are supplied mostly from local, small Mom & Pop shops; Recycled metals and findings are used as much as possible, so as not to create new demand for mining. Specifically, I use antique/vintage stones, and scrap metals from local boat yards and construction sites. *** The 'JO's' trademark stamp. ABOUT JO'S OYSTER GARDEN: My jewelry pieces are one-of-a-kind designs; Each born out of a curiosity for the metalsmithing process and a love of design. I am not a formally trained metalsmith, but I love working with my hands and challenging myself to learn new things. I adore nature, architecture, & design, and making jewelry has been the most satisfying fit for this passion. A piece of me is represented in each piece - beach lifestyle, finding balance in all things, feminine and masculine, and the influence of my favorite style, art deco. I hope that each piece of jewelry I make is seen as a reminder that nature is simple and beautiful ARTIST'S STATEMENT: The intention behind my art is for people to reconnect with nature and themselves through the balance and beauty of my jewelry, and to foster appreciation for the natural world and environmental conservation.
